President Díaz-Canel thanked the participants of the International Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba

– More than a thousand delegates from 60 countries paraded along with millions of Cubans for International Workers’ Day

Havana, May 3 (Agencies) President Miguel Díaz-Canel today thanked the support for the Revolution of the participants in the International Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, which concluded on Monday in this capital.

Through his official Twitter account, the Cuban president pointed out that “solidarity cannot be blocked; she only recognizes human needs and places those who give and receive her in the highest echelon of our species”.

“Infinite thanks for the International Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba. We will win!” he added in his tweet.

The event was in session from April 30 to May 2, with a program that allowed more than a thousand delegates from 60 countries to learn about the reality of the people of the island.

In the final declaration, the attendees ratified the commitment to the fight against the blockade imposed by the United States and the need to unite wills to face the symbolic war that has virtual spaces as its main stage.

In the closing remarks of the meeting, Díaz-Canel condemned Washington’s hostile policy against the island to exert maximum pressure and generate destabilization in the country.

In this context, «Cuba recognizes and defends, as essences, independence, sovereignty, democracy, peace, economic efficiency, security and the achievements of social justice,» stressed the head of state.

Those attending the international forum paraded along with millions of Cubans, on the occasion of May 1, International Workers’ Day.
