The Medical Brigade in the Gambia with its people on the 63rd anniversary of the Cuban Revolution

The members of the Cuban Medical Brigade (BMC) in the Gambia will celebrate this January 1st the 63rd anniversary of the triumph of their Revolution, and the advent of a new year, as will their people, with hopes and joys, and willing to fight in order to advance and preserve its sovereignty and independence.

2021 was a difficult year for Cuba. A terrible pandemic hit humanity, and our country was not exempt from its damaging effects, but thanks to the hard work of our scientists today, Covid19 in the largest of the Antilles has been controlled due to the manufacture of effective vaccines of its own, and the vaccination campaign carried out throughout the national territory.

Our economy was strongly affected not only by the coronavirus, but also by the tightening of the blockade imposed by the US government, in the midst of a deadly disease, which once again demonstrated the cruel, unjust and inhuman nature of this conduct of Washington.

But that aggressive stance of the White House regime in power could not prevent the Caribbean island from receiving dissimilar expressions of solidarity from different countries and organizations, gestures for which we will be eternally grateful.

Cuba has never given the world what it has left over, on the contrary, for years we have known how to share what we have with modesty and disinterest. An example of this is our health professionals, who have been where they have been most needed.

Thanks Fidel! for teaching us the value of solidarity.

This new anniversary shows once again that in unity, strength and persistence of ideas is the triumph. Today, more than ever, we reaffirm that Socialism is the engine of each and every one of the weapons that we have to face the continuous aggressions of our adversaries.

It was the Cuban Revolution of January 1st, 1959, under the command of the undefeated Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro, which opened the way for popular democracy against the rule of the most powerful and cruel empire that humanity has ever known.

Our people are the bearer of a life of struggles and sacrifices for freedom, independence, and the establishment of a Republic, whose First Law is the cult of the full dignity of man.

There are enough political motivations, enough experiences of a hard year, that allow us to celebrate this 63rd birthday with a concept of victory, as expressed by Miguel Díaz-CanelBermúdez, the President of Cuba.

We ratify once again our commitment to the Revolution, to our President, to Raúl Castro, our Army General, to the Communist Party of Cuba, and especially to the heroic Cuban people.

Our Revolution will always be able to count on health workers, that we will be faithful defenders of the conquests achieved, and that we will know how to put up, no matter where we are, the name of the Revolution and that of our undisputed historical leader.

Fidel loved his country so much that he did nothing more than to serve as the best of his sons. He always knew that the fight had not been in vain, and that his legacy would pass from generation to generation. Following his example, we will always be ready to fight in defense of his extraordinary work.

As expressed by our First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel:

«And with that spirit of victory, we are going to celebrate the anniversary of the Revolution and the new year, both: as a country, as a nation, as a municipality, as a territory and as a family. This is a family celebration, there is a great family that is all Cuba”.

Long live the 63rd anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution!
