Banjul, Jan 5th.- Long and difficult has been the road traveled, full of obstacles and unexpected surprises that stimulated the courage, bravery, principles of the Cuban people, and among them that of the courageous peaceful army in white coats that feel with pride Fidel’s homeland, with their daily work, sacrifice, altruism and humanity.
The largest of the Antilles today proudly contemplates the results of its struggle for the world, providing health and fighting in all corners of the planet earth Covid19, a ruthless pandemic that has taken thousands of lives from humanity.
In the midst of an inhuman and unjust US blockade and smear campaigns that have attempted to minimize and discredit this marvelous human work, the Cuban Medical Brigade (BMC) in The Gambia, a group of health professionals who are not afraid of death and, on the contrary, they face and defeat it, made this January 5th a balance of the work carried out in all regions of the Gambian geography, showing with joy the lives saved, the suffering alleviated and health restored, as well as the immense pleasure of the taste that leaves the recognition, gratitude and affection of the people of this West African nation.
The BMC also valued the difficulties and the projects that will improve its actions in the recently started 2021.
Brigades that stood out in their entirety during the past year, and those that carried out meritorious work in the defense of the homeland and the conquests of the Revolution in social networks, were stimulated.
A recent public recognition received by the Gambian Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmadou Lamin-Samateh, and by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Ramatoulie Njie, and the love that the population of this country professes for Cuban physicians, stimulates the BMC to be more efficient and continue the path that our eternal Commander-in-Chief indicated to us, the only path, that of truth, justice and solidarity.
