"An Island on a Continent"

"The greatest crime that can be committed against this continent today is neocolonialism, the attempt to establish capitalism in the peoples of Africa." Fidel Castro

America’s old nightmare with Cuba

By Patricio Montesinos

Throughout history, the United States has always tried to divide and confront Cubans, an old paronyria that dates back to the times of colonialism and neocolonialism, and that was further accentuated in Washington after the triumph of the Revolution of  January 1st 1959 in the largest of the Antilles.

Its purposes: to dominate the Caribbean nation, turn off the beacon of unity, struggle, resistance and independence that has been for Latin America and the world, and the example of solidarity that it represents for humanity today more than ever before.

To this end, successive administrations of the White House have used small groups or paid and encouraged citizens, as they have done in many other countries, and in the case of Cuba, they are made up of heirs of an annexationist minority that has existed for many years in the island.

These neo-annexationists are presented as opponents and defenders of Human Rights, of course those advocated by the United States, and fanned by the press at the service of Washington and tentacle organizations of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) that use the social networks to promote them as subversive elements.

The regime of defeated President Donald Trump, considered the most bellicose against Cuba, is still obsessed with the nightmare of taking over the Caribbean nation, even in the latter part of his term.

Since his arrival to the throne of the empire, Trump has not only intensified the blockade, aggressions and terrorism against the oldest Antillean archipelago, but has also disbursed millions of dollars to try to destroy the Cuban Revolution from within.

He has done everything one country can do against another, even in the midst of a deadly pandemic, and only two months after leaving the White House he insists on intensifying his attacks on the island.

It is clear that his huge setback in the US elections against Democrat Joe Biden has Trump unhinged, to which is added that he has not been able to defeat Cuba, like all his predecessors, and will have to leave Washington, with many penalties and without any glory.

Neo-annexationists financed and manipulated by the overthrown and frustrated US president, as has happened to others since January 1st, 1959, are wasting time in trying to destabilize and end the Revolution on the island. This has not been achieved by anyone, and even less will groups that have no recognition at all in a dignified and united people, who defend their conquests.

Any attempt in that direction promoted by Trump’s rage and kicking is doomed to failure, and will continue to be a paronyria for those who insist from the brutal and troubled north, and who sell themselves to an empire that flaps like a fish out of water  waiting for its final death.
