Congratulations from the world to the Cuban Revolution for its 64th anniversary this January 1st

– From The Gambia they also congratulate Cuba on its National Day

The Cuban Revolution once again received this January 1st the congratulations and recognition of millions of people around the world who continue to find in it an example of resistance.

The expressions of affection and respect came through social networks, public events, demonstrations, and also in the messages from Heads of State and Government received by the Cuban President, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution.

According to sources from the Foreign Ministry, congratulatory letters had been received from some 50 leaders, among them the Holiness of Francisco; the presidents of China, Egypt, France, Italy, Vietnam, Turkey, Switzerland, Greece, Germany, Ireland, Austria, Poland, the Dominican Republic, Australia, Croatia, Sri Lanka, Palestine, and Panama; the Kings of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Spain and Morocco.

The Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro Moros, wrote early this first Sunday of January from his Twitter account: «The memorable victory of the revolutionary people of Cuba still shakes consciences in the world, bothering the claims of imperialism, to sustain its hegemony over of the rebel wave that advances demanding justice. Long live Cuba always victorious!»

The same social network had been used by Bolivian leader Evo Morales Ayma, he stressed: «our greetings and recognition to the dignified people of Cuba and its President Díaz-Canel for keeping alive the flame of freedom that illuminates the path of dignity, unity and solidarity of the anti-imperialist Patria Grande”.

This historic day, added the former Bolivian president, brings us closer to the memory of the conviction and loyalty of the brother Commander in Chief Fidel Castro. It is a day to demand that the United States lift the blockade against Cuba, he pointed out.

Also through Twitter, the Cuban Head of State had announced, days prior to the celebration of the revolutionary triumph, his telephone exchanges with Presidents Vladimir Putin, of Russia, and Andrés Manuel López Obrador, of Mexico, in which he had received congratulations on the national date.

Likewise, Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo sent a letter addressed to Army General Raúl Castro Ruz and Díaz-Canel, in which they wrote: «These are 64 years of unyielding dignity and sovereignty, which we celebrate today together, as revolutions illuminated by the genius and vision of Fidel, to whom Nicaragua Sandinista knew how to become a brother, in the same search for rights and well-being for our peoples”. Living this 64th anniversary is already a privilege, and living it fully, in battles and triumphs, honors us all more, they added.

Dimitriv A. Medvedev, vice president of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, also sent his message to the Cuban president, with «sincere congratulations on the occasion of the National Holiday of the Republic of Cuba, Liberation Day.»

I am convinced, he wrote, «that traditionally fraternal relations will continue to develop progressively in the spirit of strategic association for the good of our friendly peoples.»

From Belarus, its president Aleksandr Lukashenko referred in his statement that “under severe economic sanctions and political pressure, the Island of Freedom continues to defend its independence. Attempts for dictation by the United States and its allies against small but independent countries like Belarus and Cuba force us to stand firmer and move forward with determination.»

From Banjul, the president of the Gambia-Cuba Friendship Association, Joseph Modou Peh Grant, conveyed congratulations to the Cuban people and government for the new year 2023 and for the 64th anniversary of its victorious Revolution.

Grant in a message today called on the peace-loving peoples and governments to break the severe blockade that the US has imposed on the Caribbean island for more than 60 years.
