Havana, Dec 15 (Prensa Latina) The Heads of State and Government of ALBA-TCP ratified in Cuba their commitment to strengthening the regional mechanism, as an instrument of union between peoples, based on the principles of solidarity.
In the final Declaration of the XXII Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) that met on Wednesday in the Cuban capital, the members of the countries pointed out the need to strengthen the role of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States as a mechanism for dialogue and political agreement.
It also vindicates the national dignity of the peoples based on the ideas of the heroes of Latin America and the Caribbean and, in addition, supports genuine efforts to promote respectful dialogue and peaceful coexistence among all the countries of the continent, without exception, to find solutions. to the great hemispheric problems.
The declaration denounces the use of unconventional warfare strategies against democratically elected governments and leaders in the region, through politically motivated judicial processes without legal support.
In this sense, it rejects the judicial actions against the Argentine vice president, Cristina Fernández.
In addition, it expresses its solidarity with Peru, a country affected by a serious prolonged constitutional crisis that has resulted in a series of events that threaten the stability and well-being of the majority.
«We reject the political framework created by the right-wing forces of that country against Constitutional President Pedro Castillo, forcing him to take measures that were later used by his opponents in parliament to remove him,» he says.
Likewise, it repudiates the repression by law enforcement against citizens and calls for dialogue, understanding, and sanity among all political, economic, and social actors in Peru.
The text welcomes the reinstatement of the peace talks table between the Government of Colombia and the National Liberation Army and calls for international solidarity with the Haitian people through cooperation mechanisms, based on full respect for their sovereignty.
The statement rejects the imposition of unilateral coercive measures against Nicaragua, and the economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba, in violation of the principles of the United Nations Charter and International Law.
It also expresses its support for Bolivia and its head of state, Luis Arce, in the face of destabilizing attempts and recognition of their determination to defend the process of the democratic and cultural Revolution.
It congratulates Grenada, Dominica and Saint Kitts and Nevis for their successful election days and supports the right of Caribbean countries to receive fair, special and differential treatment.
He also welcomes the appointment of Félix Plasencia as the new executive secretary of the regional bloc and thanks the work carried out by Sacha Llorenti, who previously held the position.
