As is traditional in the actions of this solidarity movement, prior to their trip to the island, its members toured more than 20 cities on three routes throughout the United States until they congregated in Miami, the starting point for Havana. In all those locations they spread the truth about Cuba and obtained donations and funds to purchase medicine for the Cuban people, to help alleviate the effects of the US government’s blockade.
