Cuba with first place in the world for anti Covid-19 booster doses

– State of Bayelsa, Nigeria, interested in vaccines from Cuba

Havana, Jul 5 (Prensa Latina) Cuba is today the nation with the most anti-Covid-19 booster doses administered to its population worldwide, thanks to a staggered vaccination campaign with nationally produced immunogens.

China, Italy, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Brazil, United States, India, Russia and South Africa, among others, follow the largest of the Antilles, the Finlay Institute of Vaccines specified in its network account Twitter.

The Caribbean country accumulates a total of 38,725,766 doses administered with nationally produced vaccines.

Cuba’s immunogens are safe and without adverse effects, according to successful clinical trials and vaccination of different segments of the population.

Bayelsa authorities are interested in developing a cooperative association in the production of vaccines and other drugs, in addition to promoting a biopharmaceutical knowledge exchange program.

«We trust in the experience and accumulated knowledge of Cubans in these important fields, hence our interest in entering into collaboration agreements,» Bayelsa Health Commissioner Pabara Newton Igwele told Prensa Latina.

According to diplomats from the Nigerian Embassy in Havana, the visiting delegation hopes that a partnership with Cuba will generate scientific cooperation, technology transfer, academic collaboration and the co-production of vaccines and other pharmaceutical products that benefit the people of the Niger Delta. , Nigeria and nations of the West African subregion.
