While the most dishonest and unjust empire in the world tends its cruel claws against the most supportive island on the planet, in the Gambia the teachers of the Cuban Medical Brigade (BMC) continue to weave a beautiful story of commitment and solidarity with this brotherly people of West Africa.
With dedication and expertise, they train future health professionals who will follow this marvelous work done by the BMC for more than 20 years.
The non-concessions, the high level of professionalism and the dedication characterize the work of the professors of the largest of the Antilles who teach at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Banjul.
They train doctors committed to their community and to the ethics of Hippocratic principles.
Recently, the professional examination of the Human Anatomy subject was carried out according to the evaluation system of the universities of West Africa.
They had the pleasant and precious presence of the Chief of Medical Services of the Edward Francis National Hospital, Dr. Charles A.P. Robert, Deputy Chief Medical Director as external examiner, and the Professors Marilu Ferrer, Nery L. Madariaga, Sonia R. Sánchez and Dr. Rebeca Lahera, all as members of the examining board.
By doing we demonstrate what we really are, Cubans besieged by a power that never tires of harming us, but with an impenetrable armor and a dignity prestigious by our values and principles that reaches and penetrates the hearts of thousands of people who on this planet acclaim and appreciate the kindness of our internationalist collaborators.
They call us heroes of our times, and not terrorists like those who have always bet on aggression, blockades, wars, and never on Human Rights or the well-being of the peoples.
