This May 5th, a beautiful child was born as a result of the love of two members of the Cuban Medical Brigade (BMC) in Gambia, Doctors Manuel Yamil Baez, specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology, and Glenis del Carmen Ramírez López, dentist.
Both excellent young doctors worked, first, in the Kanifing Hospital, in the Gambian combo, and then until a few months ago in Bansang, one of the most distant regions in the geography of this West African nation.
Manuel Alejandro, as the boy was named, has arrived on the eve of the celebration, next Sunday, of the Mother’s Day on the Caribbean island, as the most valuable gift to honor his beautiful mother, internationalist and supportive.
The little boy was conceived in this African land, so he is also a symbol of the friendship between Cuba and the Gambia, now twinned even more, when there are just a few days left to commemorate, on May 19th, the 42nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. and collaboration between both countries.
The new mum and dad offered their medical services to the Gambian people with dedication and commitment, always showing their altruistic and supportive training, and of course life rewarded them for it with the birth of Manuel Alejandro in the homeland of Martí and Fidel.
