– Raúl ratified Cuba’s solidarity with Africa and the Caribbean
Havana, Apr 18 (Agencies) No one doubts it, that as long as I live, I will be ready to defend the Homeland, the Revolution and Socialism, said Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, who announced the conclusion of his task as First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), in the VIII Congress of that organization that met this weekend on the Caribbean island.
At the end of the presentation of the Central Report to the partisan event, on its opening day, Raúl expressed his satisfaction for the duty fulfilled, and conveyed his confidence in the future of the country, although he stressed his invariable permanence in the ranks of the PCC.
He asserted that «I will continue to serve as one more revolutionary combatant, ready to make my modest contribution until the end of my life.»
The emotional and historical moment sealed the reading of a Central Report that, in a clear and objective way, reviewed what was done in the last five years, and each of the strategic issues for the largest of the Antilles.
He affirmed that his compatriots have to remain vigilant and protect the sovereign right to exist for which generations of Cubans have sacrificed, in clear reference to the aggressions and threats against their country from the United States, such as the cruel blockade that Washington imposes on it for 60 years, raged today in the midst of the Covid19 pandemic.
The Army General ratified the solidarity of the Antillean island with the nations of Africa and the Caribbean, and with the just causes of Latin America and the world.
