Massive Caravan in Cuba for global solidarity against the US blockade

– The world demanded this weekend the end of the Washington blockade to the dignified and supportive island of the Caribbean.

Havana, Mar 28 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez, who participated this Sunday in the caravan against the economic blockade of the United States, thanked the expressions of solidarity with the island received from some 50 cities around the world.

In statements through social networks, the headline emphasized the genocidal nature of this economic, commercial and financial siege that the northern government intensified in the face of the current epidemiological situation generated by Covid-19.

Rodríguez reiterated that the US blockade is a crime, illegal, immoral, extraterritorial and a violation of international law.

Also in comments to Prensa Latina, the Foreign Ministry official and youth leader, Marta García, said that is a difficult year for the world, this siege has intensified and is causing hardship for the island’s people.

«I am here today first of all to thank the movement of solidarity with Cuba that has mobilized throughout the world to say down the blockade,» she said.

In addition, she emphasized the importance of the world knowing about the existence of this fence.

«Every human being who considers himself a good person must take into account every day that the Cuban people remain blocked, the right to develop as a normal country has been taken away from us,» she commented.

Hundreds of young people from Havana this Sunday joined the global caravan against hostile US policy in an activity along the capital’s boardwalk.

Likewise, fifty localities in the United States, Canada and other countries demand during this day the end of the economic blockade of Washington and join the Bridges of Love initiative in solidarity with the Caribbean island.

Speaking to Prensa Latina, the editor-in-chief of DiarioLatinoamericano and administrator of the NoBloqueoCuba.com page, Manuel Tejeda, commented that the US cities of Tampa, Hartford, Holyoke, Albany, Detroit, Chicago and Minneapolis are joining the draft.

Groups of emigrants and friends of Cuba in Russia, Italy, France, Germany, Namibia, Gambia, Angola, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, among dozens of other nations have already carried out mobilizations, statements, publications on the web and actions to call for an end to the siege.
