NAM’s strong condemnation of the inclusion of Cuba on the US spurious list.

New York, Jan 17.- The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) strongly
condemned the recent inclusion of Cuba in the spurious US list of
nations sponsoring terrorism, a determination by Washington rejected
by the international community.

In an official note released at the UN Headquarters, the NAM
Coordination Bureau hopes that the new administration of the White
House, which will take office on January 20, will take the necessary
actions to reverse this unfounded decision regarding Cuba, and
progress towards the normalization of bilateral relations.

Likewise, he refuted the politicization of the fight against terrorism,
which is detrimental to efforts aimed at ending this evil that devastates
humanity.

The NAM insisted on its firm position against terrorism in all its forms
and manifestations, as well as against all acts, methods and practices
of violence and use of force.

In addition, he reiterated his call to the members of that international
entity not to tolerate terrorism, and reaffirmed his exhortation to refrain
from organizing, instigating, facilitating, participating, financing,
encouraging or tolerating such actions.

The NAM is the main mechanism for political agreement in the
countries of the South. The nations that comprise it represent more
than two-thirds of the UN, and about 55% of the world’s population.
At present, it is made up of 120 States, and 27 as observers, including
10 organizations.
