The Cuban Medical Brigade in the Gambia commemorates the birth of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, on August 13th , 94 years after his birth.
Fidel’s life cannot be reduced to a few lines. His permanent bond with the people and his unlimited dedication to the cause of the Revolution have left an indelible mark on the Cuban people, and have served as an inspiration for millions of men and women on all continents.
Today we see him multiplied in the smile of each child, in the actions of each young person who fights for a better world, in the commitment and responsibility of so many health workers, scientists, professionals, workers, peasants and soldiers who united, as you taught us, we follow your footsteps towards that better world for which we are willing to fight.
It is a beacon and guide to the most just causes that exist anywhere in the geography of our planet. We will continue to be faithful to their convictions and principles, as a paradigm of justice, sacrifice, dedication and will.
At a time when imperialism intensifies the blockade against Cuba in the midst of the pandemic that plagues humanity, there are the teachings of our undefeated Commander-in-Chief, who always was and will be right.
His example and his legacy will remain with us and will show us the way forward as a ray of light towards a better future.
We Cuban health professionals will not disappoint him and we will ratify with our actions the commitment with the historic generation of the Revolution, with our President Miguel Díaz-Canel, with our Army General, Raúl Castro, and with the Communist Party of Cuba.
We will continue together Fidel because you live among us, and because death is not true when the work of life has been well accomplished.
