On July 26th , the National Rebelliousness Day will be celebrated all along Cuba, marking the 67th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada Garrison, in Santiago de Cuba, an action carried out by a group of men and women under the command of our undefeated Commander. in Chief Fidel Castro, with the aim of overthrowing the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista.
Our Cuban Medical Brigade in The Gambia (BMC) is filled with joy and from distant lands joins our heroic people to celebrate that important date that marked, then, the continuation of the true Cuban Revolution, the one that was born with Carlos Manuel de Céspedes in 1868.
Currently the world is plagued by one of the most terrible pandemics seen for years by humanity, which has taken thousands of lives.
We want to emphasize that despite the unjust, cruel and inhuman economic and financial blockade imposed by the United States government on our small island, the revolutionary government has managed to control and eradicate the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
The Gambia in recent months has been showing an increase in positive cases of COVID-19, so we ratify today our commitment and firm position to continue fighting, together with the government and people of this West African nation, the terrible pandemic.
Once again we demonstrate to imperialism, which does nothing more than try to discredit Cuban medicine using obsolete methods and tricks of any kind, that «Cuba Saves Lives».
We do not fight with weapons as they do since our fight is for science, that we never see a patient as a commodity, and all this is because we were trained in a Socialist System, where every citizen has the right to health free from birth to death without distinction of any kind.
Today Cuban medicine has the highest prestige at the international level. Every day our collaborators write beautiful pages that over time become thousands of stories, whose main protagonist is the greatest of all armies: The Cuban Pacific Army of White Coats.
We know the value of solidarity, that is why our country continues to send its doctors and health workers to those who need it, in the midst of the current planetary crisis that we are experiencing.
As our Commander in Chief expressed:
«… even once, throughout its selfless revolutionary history, our people didn’t stop offering their solidarity medical aid in the event of catastrophes to other countries who required it, no matter how abysmal the ideological and political differences were.»
From Sister Gambia we reiterate our unconditional support for our President Miguel Díaz-Canel, our Army General Raúl Castro, and the Communist Party of Cuba.
We also support the recent intervention of our President on new measures that will be applied in Cuba to face the intensified blockade of Washington, and the world economic crisis that is looming with COVID-19. In his Díaz-Canel speech, he affirmed: «Cuba you should be strong , because we will continue to live, boost the economy and win.»
We want to express that we will never disappoint the Revolution, that we will continue to fight, offering quality medical care and excellence in services, with a deep humanist and solidarity vocation, able to be adapted and to transform the most dissimilar conditions.
As our indisputable historical leader taught us:
«We will fight and we will win»
Long live the Cuban Revolution!
Long live our undefeated Commander in Chief!
Ever onward to victory!
