Cuba is not alone or isolated

Havana, June 18, 2024.- Support for the fight against the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States, with overflowing displays of solidarity in cities of all latitudes; The global rejection of the inclusion on the list of countries that sponsor terrorism, and the profound and coherent presidency of the Group of 77 and China, further elevated Cuba’s prestige in its relations with the world.

In 2023, Cuba maintained diplomatic relations with 195 States; of them, 190 full members of the United Nations, another five (Palestine, Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Cook Islands, Holy See and Niue), reaching 197 with the Sovereign Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes and Malta, and also with the European Union.

No matter how much her enemies have wanted to isolate her, the prestige of her work, par excellence, reaffirms that Cuba is not alone. In Havana, 172 first-level visits were received.

«It advanced its foreign policy objectives and maintained its traditional activism and prestige in international and regional organizations and forums,» the Cuban Foreign Ministry published on its website, referring to the political results last year.

«In the legal field, we signed 29 government agreements, with the Dominican Republic, Argentina, Honduras, Serbia, Russia, the United Kingdom, Algeria, Namibia, Rwanda, Burundi, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, the Saudi Fund, the French Development Agency and the European Union, which cover relevant issues for the Cuban people and for the development of the nation,» highlighted the Foreign Ministry.

The visits abroad of the Cuban president, Miguel Díaz-Canel, had high repercussions, especially to New York, a city in which, in the middle of the street, affection and respect for the largest of the Antilles and his Revolution emerged.

«Support for the Palestinian cause and the fight for a more just and equitable democratic world order, based on International Law and the sovereign equality of States,» constituted another example of Cuba’s position regarding world peace and to international law.
